Promotion of Lower Silesia in the country and abroad in the face of changes in the world economy

Implementation as part of the project Promotion of Lower Silesia in the country and abroad in the face of changes in the world economy on the basis of a grant agreement no. RPDS.01.04.01-02-0002 / 20-00 of November 25, 2020. The project is co-financed by the European Union from the funds of the Regional Operational Program of the Lower Silesian Voivodship 2014-2020, Priority axis 1 "Enterprises and innovation", Measure 1.4 "Internationalization of enterprises", Sub-measure 1.4.1 "Internationalization of enterprises - horizontal competition", Scheme 1.4C "Promotion of the region's economic offer on domestic markets and international ”.

Goals of Promotion of Lower Silesia in the country and abroad in the face of changes in the world economy

The objective of the project is to promote the Lower Silesian Province in view of changes in the global economy due to the Covid-19 pandemic. As part of the project, DAWG will focus on presenting Lower Silesia as a region with a friendly climate for investment through promotion at home and abroad. This effect is planned to be achieved through, among other things, promotional activities in the means of transport of air and rail carriers, including at the airport in Wroclaw, among other things, advertising the Lower Silesian Voivodship on airplanes with regular connections to the capital of the province, on promotional banners, and through advertising the Lower Silesian Voivodship on trains with connections to Wroclaw, including local and national connections as well as international connections. In the perspective of expected changes in consumer behaviour, these actions will also be aimed at attracting domestic and foreign tourists to Lower Silesia. An Economic Analysis of Lower Silesia will be carried out to inform future foreign and domestic investors, including general information about the region, basic economic and statistical data, strategic sectors, nature of the economy, impact of air services on economic development, etc. Its results will be published on the website. It will be a material to be handed out during meetings at home and abroad. The promotional activities also include study visits of foreign entrepreneurs to Lower Silesia, for whom a presentation of the above-mentioned economic analysis will be organised, and the programme of the visit will include visits to places for investment, meetings with local authorities and investment experts, such as representatives of the ARP, SEZ, etc., and potential business partners, i.e. entrepreneurs, representatives of economic institutions, business associations, etc. Lower Silesian regional products will be purchased and presented for promotion during national and international meetings. A module on the DAWG website will be created to serve project objectives, including an information platform with a calendar of events - conferences, webinars, publication of an economic analysis of Lower Silesia, podcasts with recorded webinars to be played at convenient times.

Economic changes affect the economic decisions of entrepreneurs in the region. The project also aims to provide expertise on the possibilities of action in the changing reality. Entrepreneurs will be constantly informed by DAWG's subject matter experts about available support instruments in the field of internationalisation. Also planned are webinars/seminars, panel discussions, conferences and presentations by domestic and foreign experts on how to operate on foreign markets and establish international cooperation, but also how to attract investors. The axis of the meetings will be the European point of view, consistent with the economic interests and regulations of the European Union. The meetings will be implemented through online channels in the form of webinars, online conferences, Q&A sessions, as well as traditionally with personal participation of speakers and entrepreneurs in the events, including as part of the Economic Forum in Karpacz, the largest economic event in the region organized on a regular basis, attracting an audience of about 7.5 thousand representatives of business communities. In view of the economic changes, the geographical priorities of the economic cooperation should be verified. In this context, Lower Silesia should strengthen its ties and develop cooperation with its closest partners in Germany and the Czech Republic, as well as strengthen cooperation with partners in the European Union, and direct its interest towards countries which do not belong to the European Union but border Poland, i.e. Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia. Study visits to Germany, the Czech Republic, Belgium, the Netherlands, Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine are planned.

Support will be directed to companies and organizations representing the SME sector and foreign investors. The project will be implemented in the entire Lower Silesian Voivodship, including five subregions and abroad. The project involves activities in the field of two forms of economic promotion of the region, i.e. at home and abroad.
